Taming the tiger.

Fondly referred to as the 'Tiger' by his acolytes, Bal Thackeray; the strongman of Indian Politics has been finally tamed , or should I say skinned... the Shiv Sena under his aegis was beaten comprehensively by the Congress-NCP combine in Maharashtra and I must say that I am delighted with the result. The Shiv-Sena is a parochial party with Bombay as their stronghold,(P.S I will never refer to Bombay as Mumbai) the shiv sena lacks vision and is just a right wing Hindu fundamentalist party. The self proclaimed Hindu Hridaysamrat (Ruler of the heart of the Hindus) is no more a towering figure.

There are many reasons for the falter of Bal Thackeray and Shiv Sena, the predominant reason being nepotism. The heir to the Shiv Sena throne should have been Bal Thackeray's nephew Raj Thackeray and not his son Uddhav Thackeray. To incite a crowd, oratory skills are the only prerequisite but for proper governance, administration sills are a necessity which the shiv sena sorely lacked.

The bottom line here is that Hindutva doesn't sell. On an average every Hindu is tolerant and secular in their outlook. Its not that I'm against the Shiv Sena just because I'm a Christian and the Shiv Sena is a Hindu Nationalist party. The truth is far from it, I despise the Shiv Sena for their lack of vision and tolerance. They indulged in corruption at the highest levels; which is evident from a multi million dollar fake stamps scam and I'm cheering away at the scene of the congress skinning the tiger.
